What is the difference between gigabit network transformer and 100base network transformer? Can't they be used interchangeably?
The gigabit network transformer has four windings, namely four pairs of wires, corresponding to the network port 1/2, 3/6, 4/5, 7/8 should be used,
each pair of speed is 250M, the carrier frequency of sending and receiving two directions is different, the network transmission can send and receive at the same time, 100 base transformer is a two-way winding, using only 1/2 and 3/6, sending and receiving each with a pair of wires, and the speed is 100M.
However, 100base transformer cannot replace gigabit transformer with two sets of lines.
