In our lives rj45 series products are very common. As long as you pay attention, you can find many places can see the rj45, such as computers for network connections, routers, switches are connected through RJ45 connectors communication. So how many types of rj45 connectors? The following will give you a general idea of the types of RJ45 connectors.

Most of the RJ connectors are RJ45 connectors for Ethernet connections. 8P8C, you can connect four pairs of twisted-pair cable, 12mm wide, a little wider than the RJ11 series. RJ45 connectors are sometimes used for telephone or RS232 connections, but also some people use to pass VGA video signals.

Universal telephone connector belongs to a kind of RJ11. At the very beginning was the common name of a connector developed by a U.S. company, originally named WExW, the shape of the 6-pin WE6W use all six contacts, while WE2W only use the middle two pins, later became one of the RJ series connectors.

RJ11 and RJ14, RJ25 for the same series, the same size, are 9.5mm wide, only the number of contacts is different. RJ11 only the middle pair of contacts, can be connected to a pair of wires, said 6P2C (six position, two conductor). RJ14 use the middle four contacts, can be connected to two pairs of wires, said 6P4C. RJ5 use all six contacts, can be RJ5 uses all 6 contacts and can be connected to 3 pairs of wires, denoted as 6P6C.

Sometimes this connector can also be used to provide low-voltage small power supply (AC or DC), commonly used PIN2 and PIN5 (black and yellow wires). Generally use RJ11 as a generic term for this 9.5mm series, using RJ11-6P2C, RJ11-6P4C and RJ11-6P6C respectively to distinguish the number of contacts. There is also a connector used in telephones to connect the phone to the handle, called 4P4C (also known as RJ22, and with RJ9, RJ10 to form a series), with four contacts, 7.5mm wide, smaller than RJ11

There is also an 8P8C connector called RJ61, used to connect twisted pairs. Because of this line sequence in the 3rd and 4th pair of twisted pairs in the two lines are far apart, it will cause greater crosstalk, do not talk to fit the transmission of high-frequency signals such as Ethernet. There is also a RJ48 connector, also 8P8C, can be used to connect four pairs of T1 data links, each pair of lines can transmit time division multiplexing 23 way.
